For this quarter, 'profit net of tax' increased from RM10m to RM11m, YoY+12%. QoQ, revenue increased from RM90.7m to RM91.5m, QoQ+0.8%. YoY, revenue increased by RM8.4m or 10%, from RM83.1m, mainly due to higher demand for burn-in and testing services. 1HFY18, revenue increased by RM19m or 12%, from RM163.2m to RM182.2m, as a result of higher demand for burn-in and testing services.

To process high volume automotive devices, the highest and consistency in quality of semiconductors have to be maintained. To meet these high standards, KESM developed several tools to track the extensive quality data collected in real-time and made these information readily accessible at any time and from anywhere in the world. Also, they have developed an intelligent real-time based Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) monitoring system a powerful tool to optimize the throughput of all the testers by analysing the data.

Prospects:
In 2018, the world-wide semiconductor revenue is projected to grow at 7.5%, to USD451b. The global economy growth is estimated to improve to 3.9% from 3.7% in 2017. The Group will improve production efficiencies in light of recent capacity expansion.
