民主行动党宣传秘书潘俭伟指出，若民联执政中央，将逐步降低国內税（Excise Duty），并将在5年內分阶段逐步废除汽车国內税，届时车价将跌大约40%。

民联已把降低车价列入《人民宣言》，民联将透过开源节流的方式，弥补这方面的税收损失。
