SUNGAI PETANI: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak today announced that the household monthly income eligibility for PR1MA homes will be increased from RM10,000 to RM15,000, to enable more middle-income earners to own their first home.
Najib also announced that the moratorium on renting and selling imposed on PR1MA house buyers will be slashed from 10 to 5 years to increase the scheme's marketability.
He announced the two changes in the Perbadanan PR1MA Malaysia policy during his speech at the first PR1MA community meet & greet session in Sungai Petani today.
Najib reiterated government's commitment towards building affordable housing for the rakyat nationwide.
"The policy changes are in addition to my announcement while tabling the 2017 Budget in October on special end-financing scheme, which has significantly increased the financing eligibility of home buyers," he said.
