Currently we have a total of 1.1 million Covid 19 cases, 903,000 recovered and 8,725 deaths. Unfortunately, all these 3 figures are surging as shown on the chart below.

Our population is about 32 million people. We have the greatest number of Covid 19 cases per capita in the world.

At this rate of increase, we will soon end up with more than 2 million Covid 19 cases, 2 million recovered cases and 20,000 deaths, before we could control the spread of the pandemic.

How can these 2 million perpetual ill health citizen affect our economy?

Studies have shown that those Covid 19 recovered patients will have perpetual ill health. Malaysia will lose 2 million workers. Moreover, the government has to spend a lot of money to provide medical facilities for them for a long time.

That is why so many people demonstrated yesterday in Kuala Lumpur as shown on the photo below.

As I said many a time, good managers produce good result and bad managers produce bad result. Managing the country is like managing hundreds of business operations in every town and city. Based on the rapid increase of Covid 19 cases, obviously, the current system of managing the Covid 19 pandemic is far from satisfactory.

My proposal to form a Covid 19 management committee.

I have more than 50 years in managing businesses. Based on my long experience, I would like to make this proposal.

The government must form a Covid 19 management committee. It is like a board of directors in a business company, 1 Chairman and 6 members. Too many   members can only delay the decision-making process. All the committee members should have proven track records. They should successful business men. No politicians should be appointed as members.

China donated vaccines to Malaysia

If you Google you can read that Malaysia has received a large donation of Sinovac COVID-19 vaccines from China. Malaysian authorities said another 12 million jabs would arrive in July.

China is our biggest buyer of our palm oil and other products.  In fact, a few months ago, I posted an article to suggest our Prime Minister ring the Chinese Ambassador in Kuala Lumpur to ask him to help us by sending vaccines.

Since China has already donated tens of million doses of vaccines to Malaysia, why should our government buy vaccines from public commercial companies?

Corruption???

Vaccinated individuals accounted for three-quarters of Singapore’s Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) infections in the last four weeks, putting a dent in the country’s vaccination program.

Singapore, which has been distributing the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines, has already vaccinated nearly 75 percent of its 5.7 million people – the world’s second-highest rate behind the United Arab Emirates. Half of the country’s population is fully vaccinated.
