HeveaBoard wins the prestigious ASEAN Energy Awards 2014

A sole Malaysian company recipient bestowed the ASEAN Best Practices Awards for Energy Management in Buildings and Industries during the prestigious ASEAN Energy Awards 2014 (“AEA”) held on 23 September 2014 at Don Chan Palace Hotel, Vientiane, Lao PDR

HeveaBoard Berhad Group Managing Director Mr. Yoong Hau Chun, receiving the ASEAN Best Practices Awards for Energy Management in Buildings and Industries for the Industry Special Submission Category from the representative of ASEAN Center for Energy (“ACE”) on 23 September 2014 at Don Chan Palace Hotel, Lao PDR.

HeveaBoard Berhad Malaysiareceived the ASEAN Best Practices Awards for Energy Management in Buildings and Industries for the Industry Special Submission Category from the prestigious ASEAN Energy Awards 2014 (“AEA”) held last Tuesday.

This is in recognition ofHeveaBoard Berhad efforts implementing the best industrial practices in improving renewables through its energy efficiency and conserving energy consumption.

Incepted in 1993 and located at a quaint township at Gemas, Negeri Sembilan, HeveaBoard main biz has been into manufacturing, trading and distributing a wide range of particle-board products. Its production plants are fully equipped with technology incompatible to the standards required from Europe. HeaveaBoard products are exported majorly to China and Japan. Apart from winning this recent ASEAN Energy Awards 2014, HeaveaBoard too is one the first Malaysian company to obtain a seal of approval from the Japanese Industrial Standards (“JIS”) Certified Particleboard Manufacturer in the region.

Commenting on the award winning, HeveaBoard Group Managing Director Mr. Yoong Hau Chun commented “ASEAN Energy Awards is one of the most prestigious awards in the energy industry and this annual event honour organisations that have made outstanding contributions to protect the environment through energy efficiency. Therefore, we are proud and honoured to be the only Malaysian company to win in this category. Hard work and sheer determination over these years have been fruitful as reflected by winning this award.”

“I am delighted to be in the running for the Company and the projects we have done really demonstrated a modification and optimisation of the process flow that will be able to lead us into the reductions of greenhouse gas emissions and other related environmental impacts and energy cost,” he added.

Headquartered in Jakarta, Indonesia, ASEAN Center for Energy (“ACE”) is an intergovernmental organisation established by Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.It is guided by Governing Council composed of the Senior Officials on energy of the ASEAN Countries and a representative from the ASEAN Secretariat.
