Singapore-based Miclyn Express Offshore has secured term contracts for sister vessels Miclyn Emperor and Miclyn Express to work in the Malaysia Thailand Joint Development Area (MTJDA).
The Miclyn Empress and Miclyn Emperor will perform supply vessel operations at a gas field in MTJDA for two and three years respectively.
While Miclyn is keeping mum on the exact location and client of this job, the two small anchor-handling tug supply vessels are operating on the Cakerawala field in Block A-18, according to VesselsValue.
The Emperor and Empress are capable of performing towing and anchoring jobs with a minimum of 60-tonne bollard pull, serving as both export tanker static tow vessel and hose/hawser handling vessels during condensate lifting operations, providing cargo transportation to and from supply bases to the offshore locations, and assisting in production or drilling operations as necessary.
The vessels, which were contracted via Miclyn’s local joint venture, are said to have been chosen because of strong prior track records from similar job scopes that complied with the ‘straight supply’ contract requirement.
The Singapore-flagged Emperor and Empress will also serve as accommodation support vessels for project personnel, aiding in the supply and inter-platform transfer of personnel, material and consumables.
Both vessels are equipped to carry out safety standby duties for helicopter operations, emergency situations, pollution recovery and field safety surveillance, added Miclyn.
