BYD launched the 2024 update of its flagship sedan, Han, and SUV, Tang. Both cars belong to the Dynasty series. Three versions of Han were launched: all-electric Han EV, plug-in hybrid Han DM-i, and AWD plug-in hybrid Han DM-p. The BYD Tang launched one version, a plug-in hybrid Tang DM-i. The Han EV Honor Edition starts at CN¥179,800 (US$25,000), 14% down from the previous version while the top of the Han range will be priced at CN¥249,800 (US$34,700). Meanwhile The new plug-in hybrid SUV Tang DM-i Honor Edition starts at CN¥179,800 (US$25,000), 14% down from the previous version while its flagship BYD Tang DM-i Champion Edition will be priced at CN¥209,800 (US$29,100).

China Mobile Ltd (941.HK)

China Mobile and stc team up for IoT connectivity in Saudi Arabia. Under the terms of the alliance agreement, stc Group will provide IoT connectivity services to China Mobile in Saudi Arabia. Both companies said they would leverage their combined expertise to facilitate access to cutting-edge IoT capabilities, particularly for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). The partnership is part of China Mobile’s strategy to create a partner ecosystem with regional and global carrier partners, enabling local operators to provide services leveraging China Mobile's 5G and IoT capabilities.

ANTA Sports Products Ltd (2020.HK)

First seen on-court at the Mavericks v Nets game, Kyrie Irving’s signature sneaker with ANTA is set to drop this month. As well as signing a five-year endorsement deal, Irving was also appointed Chief Creative Officer of the sportswear label earlier this year, with the debut of the KAI 1 sneaker marking the guard’s first product with the brand. The ANTA KAI 1 drops on March 9 and retails for US$150. “I’ve woven the essence of my heritage and my heart for basketball into the design of ANTA KAI 1,” Irving says of his debut sneaker. “This is more than a shoe; it embodies our ancestors’ strength and the future we’re building. Every detail, from the hieroglyphics to the aerodynamic shape, tells the story of where we’ve been and where we’re going.”

CNOOC Ltd (883.HK)

CNOOC) has announced the recent discovery of the largest metamorphic rock oilfield in the Bohai Sea. According to China Central Television, the Bohai 26-6 oilfield, situated approximately 170km from Tianjin Municipality, has recently confirmed an unprecedented volume of oil and gas reserves. These newly established reserves exceed 40m cubic meters, contributing to the cumulative proven reserves of the field which have now surpassed 200m cubic meters. During the process of drilling exploration, engineers made the significant discovery of an oil and gas layer reaching a depth of 118 meters. It is anticipated that the average daily oil production will surpass 390 cubic meters, while the gas output is projected to exceed 50,000 cubic meters.

Tencent Holdings Ltd (700.HK)

Tencent Holdings Ltd will join forces with Saudi Arabian telecommunications behemoth Etihad Etisalat Company to offer enterprise solutions in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Etihad Etisalat is a telco services company that offers fixed line, mobile telephony and internet services under the brand name Mobily in Saudi Arabia. Tencent senior executive vice-president Dowson Tong said Tencent Cloud will be officially announcing its partnership with Mobily in the next few days. Tong, who is also CEO of Cloud and Smart Industries Group (CSIG), said Tencent Cloud and Mobily will be working together to bring in enterprise solutions for local businesses in Saudi Arabia.
