KUALA LUMPUR: Several activists had their statements recorded by police in connection with various rallies held following the recent political crisis.

Activist-lawyer Fadiah Nadwa Fikri and three other activists, Nik Azura Nik Narson, Liew Liang Hong and Wong Yan Ke, went to the police headquarters at 1pm yesterday and spent almost two hours with investigators as they were questioned on rallies in Dataran Merdeka.

“People have the right to free speech and the right to assemble.

“The power that can bring about radical progressive change is people power. We have to think of collective action to save the country from those who are greedy, ” she told reporters.

Lawyer Rajsurian Pillai, who represented the activists, said the four are being investigated under Section 9 of the Peaceful Assembly Act.

Meanwhile, the second batch of activists questioned by police at Dang Wangi involved 15 people, including Datin Paduka Marina Mahathir and Datuk Ambiga Sreenevasan.

They were questioned in connection with the rally in front of Sogo shopping mall last Sunday.

Marina and Ambiga left the police headquarters accompanied by their lawyer Ragunath Kesavan after being questioned for an hour.

Marina said it was a waste of the police’s time calling up activists to have their statements recorded.

“Unless we have a crystal ball, how could we have known?” she said referring to the recent political crisis and subsequent rallies that occurred.

Meanwhile, Ambiga said freedom of expression and peaceful assembly was the right of the people.

After much reflection, all this started with the PH Presidential Council of which Tun M, DS Anwar, Lim KS, Lim GE and others are member. They should all take responsibility for the mess as they and only they agreed just before GE14 as candidates (the treacherous MPs that had leap-frog away) and accepting Bersatu as partner of PH and now they are gone. And most knew what character they are of.

Like in the "so-called" western countries that are "democratic" and of principled people (that we all aspired to be), they - Tun M, DS Anwar, Lim KS, Lim GE should immediately resigned to take responsibility. Anything less is an affront to the voters that have voted for PH. And worse of all, they said they are not responsible and pointing fingers at everyone else except themselves - what a disgraced, a damn lousy example you all are setting, especially those that are writing apology for them.

Now is the time for the so call young progressive members (e.g Nurul, Wan Saiful, etc) of all these political parties to stand up and take over the leading from all these old leaders that are totally bankrupt of any new ideas to lead and of no moral standing whatsoever..

probability

it has tremendous implications:

- AG Thomas resigned
- Lateefa resigned
- Najib and Zahid feels they are no longer prosecutable
- Justo left malaysia
- Sedition act were never removed
- Death penalty were never removed
- 1MDB trial will never conclude together with Altantuya case
- Rakyat who spent so much energy to vote will no longer feel any meaning in voting

Instead they may ban liquor shops and 'sexy dress' in public etc...

seriously hopeless country
(not sure how to motivate myself - frankly)
.......

I am predicting more covid cases in Malaysia as we may have as good as Iran government here

Datuk Seri Rick Walker

To me Hadi is selling Islam left and right! I will not be surprise the moment he taste Putrajaya, his heavenly views quickly evaporates! He will quickly taste of 72 virgins a day, money falling from sky and driven Merc and BMW!
And once you bitten by corridor of power, you will be afraid to lose it! Just look at LGE, he keep hinting us how much he love the comfort of Putrajaya! Even sing praises for Mahathir to comeback! Benting over just to be given a chance once again!
