KUALA LUMPUR: The government today mandated the use of the MySejahtera application for all businesses nationwide.

The move is meant to facilitate contact tracing processes, said Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Yaakob

The decision, made during a Special Cabinet meeting on Covid-19, will assist the Health Ministry in detecting those exposed to Covid-19 patients.

"There are several contact tracing applications that are being used across the country, such as the Selangor government's Selangkah application.

"The premises are allowed to offer alternatives, such as Selangkah; but the public must register via the MySejahtera application," he said during a press conference at Parliament House here, today.

The Senior Defence Minister said the Attorney-General's Chambers will be gazetting the mandatory use of the application soon.

He also said business operators in rural areas, and in locations without internet access, are allowed to continue manual registration of their patrons.

Should have been mandatory weeks ago! I mean, how stupid it is to write your name and number when you already have tracing app available!
Anyway, the 2nd wave seems to be coming from imported cases! Therefore, those returning or entering Malaysia must be quarantined!
