KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 20 — Eleven states and two federal territories in Peninsular Malaysia saw high numbers of swing voters in favour of Perikatan Nasional (PN), according to research firm Politweet.
In comparing the 14th general election (GE14) votes to GE15, they found that the swing was most obvious in the northern state of Perlis, where PN managed to win over 31.21 percentage points at the expense of Barisan Nasional (-14.97pp) and Pakatan Harapan (-18.47pp).
A small 2.23pp of the two heavyweight coalitions went to smaller parties who were also contesting, namely Pejuang, Warisan, and independents.
As for other states, although the number of swing voters was not as high, it was still the deciding factor that helped PN bag 73 seats yesterday.
Politweet’s numbers show Putrajaya was next in line at 28.87pp, Kedah (23.41pp), Melaka (22.26pp), Johor (19.63pp), Penang (15.66pp), Kelantan (15.70pp), Perak (13.65pp), Terengganu (12.71pp), Selangor (12.33pp), Pahang (12.16pp), Negri Sembilan (12.01pp), and Kuala Lumpur (11.58pp).
Meanwhile, BN accumulatively suffered a -107.77pp while PH suffered a -138.63pp, failing to retain 49 seats and 39 seats respectively.
Politweet’s data for PH includes Muda, who they formed an electoral pact with for GE15.

It is expected and not unpredictable!
Some UMNO members and its supporters did a backstabbing by supporting PN for obvious reasons such as not being nominated, not liking the candidate, factionalism and many more selfish reasons.
