KOTA KINABALU: It was a dream come true for Arief Syafiq Ajie Prasastie when he scored 12As in the 2022 Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination.

"I targeted to score straight As in SPM and worked hard for it.

"Alhamdulillah, all the hard work and sacrifice have paid off," he said when met after the announcement of the examination results at SMK Agama Kota Kinabalu here, today.

Sharing his study tips, Arief Syafiq said apart from respecting his teachers, he managed his time wisely to complete all daily tasks.

"I allocated at least two hours a day to study and do some revision. We must respect our teachers because they teach us and provide us with knowledge.

"In terms of religion, do not forget to perform solat (daily prayers) and read the Quran," he said, adding that his favourites subjects were Add Maths and Biology.

For Arief Syafiq, helping friends who were struggling with their studies had also helped him to do better academically.

"If we help others in a subject that we are strong in, we are helping ourselves to improve.

"Do not be stingy with knowledge. Always help friends who need us. When we teach them, we learn even better," said Arief Syafiq, who is originally from Selangor but moved to Sabah more than eight years ago with his family.

Arief believes he is on the right track to achieving his ambition to become a doctor like his parents.

"My father owns two clinics here (in Sabah) and my mother is a specialist doctor in a government hospital.

"I am passionate about helping people and I want to continue my father's legacy.

"Insya Allah, I will continue my studies in Jordan and achieve my ambition," said the second of five siblings enthusiastically.
