KUALA LUMPUR: PKR has not yet decided on working together with Barisan Nasional (BN) in the next general election (GE16).

However, the party has discussed the matter, said PKR secretary-general Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.

"We (PKR leaders) meet often. The idea was put forward," he said on an episode of the Keluar Sekejap podcast hosted by Khairy Jamaluddin and Shahril Sufian Hamdan last night.

He was asked to comment on BN chairman Datuk Seri Zahid Hamidi's remarks that he wanted his coalition's cooperation with Pakatan Harapan to continue beyond GE16.

DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke has voiced hope that PH and BN's cooperation will continue beyond GE16.

"We would have to evaluate the situation then, but as far as PKR is concerned, we have not made any decision," said Saifuddin.

BN, PH, Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS), and Gabungan Rakyat Sabah, along with several other parties formed the unity government in the wake of the last general election as no coalition was able to form the government themselves.

GPS chairman Abang Johari Openg has said the coalition will support Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim until the end of his term in 2027.
