SERENDAH: DAP Selangor has reiterated its stance that the announcement of a RM5.2 million project ahead of the Kuala Kubu Baharu (KKB) by-election is not wrong and is a common practice.

Election director for KKB by-election Ng Sze Han said this is a common practice as it was done before the nomination day.

"Yesterday, the minister (of housing and local government Nga Kor Ming) explained that the allocation is a common practice and furthermore, the nomination of candidates has not yet been conducted.

"He also visited Terengganu and Kelantan to provide similar allocations… There are no by-elections there," Ng told the press conference at the construction commencement ceremony for MCE Holdings Bhd's (MCE) Auto Hub here today.

Commenting on the nominated candidate for KKB, Ng said DAP will announce the candidate who will represent the unity government by next Wednesday.

"We already have several qualified candidates, and this will be presented to the DAP central committee to make a decision before we bring it to the PH level for discussion.

"The announcement of the candidate will be made next Wednesday night in Kuala Kubu Baharu," he added.
