KOTA BARU: The Transport Ministry today said the government had decided to allow Thai buses to enter Malaysia to bring in tourists.

Its minister Anthony Loke said the decision was effective recently and that the Thai buses can enter Malaysia via all the border states.

"The rules were applied to the Thai bus operators who wish to bring the Thai tourists to Malaysia via Kelantan, Kedah and other border states.

"They are required to get the temporary permits first before they can enter Malaysia," he told reporters after launching the Phase One of Sultan Ismail Petra airport's project here today.

Loke, however, said Thai van operators were prohibited from entering Malaysia.
