PETALING JAYA: Projek Lintasan Kota Sdn Bhd (Prolintas) confirms that its personnel have been remanded by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).

In a statment Wednesday (June 26), the highway concessionaire said it was aware that its personnel were remanded by MACC to assist in investigations relating to a construction case.

"We are committed and are working closely with all relevant authorities to ensure full cooperation in facilitating the investigation.

"Prolintas continues to be committed in maintaining the highest levels of integrity and corporate governance," the statement read.

Earlier, it was reported that eight people, including a chief executive officer and two senior executives of a highway concessionaire, had been remanded for allegedly accepting bribes involving the construction of two highways in the Klang Valley, valued at RM1.6bil.

It was learnt that the CEO, who is a Datuk, and the two senior management have been remanded for four days until June 28.

Five others, who are company owners, were remanded for three days until June 27.

The remand order was issued by Magistrate Irza Zulaikha Rohanuddin who allowed applications made by the MACC.

MACC deputy chief commissioner (operations) Datuk Seri Ahmad Khusairi Yahaya confirmed the arrests.
