KUALA LUMPUR: Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh will decide on the next course of action against the Umno assemblyman in the state, who has switched his allegiance and joined Pas.

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who is also the Umno president, said he has spoken to Rauf to discuss the issue surrounding Rembia assemblyman Datuk Jailani Khamis.

"I will leave it to the Melaka Chief Minister, who is also the state BN chairman and state Umno liaison committee chairman to decide on the matter," he told reporters here yesterday.

Zahid added that all the proposed actions to be taken against Jailani will be discussed during the Umno Supreme Council meeting.

Pas secretary-general Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan yesterday announced that Jailani has joined the Perikatan Nasional (PN) component party.

Takiyuddin also confirmed that Jailani made an application to join the party and that the latter has been a Pas member since June last year.
