KUALA LUMPUR: Both the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) and Lembaga Tabung Haji are no longer major shareholders of Globetronics Technology Bhd after its recent announcement of the voluntary resignation of its external auditor KPMG PLT.

According to a filing with Bursa Malaysia, EPF sold its remaining 9.48 million shares on Sept 10, having held 54.9 million shares in mid-July.

Tabung Haji followed suit, selling off its remaining four million shares on the same day.

The decision by both funds to exit the outsourced semiconductor assembly and test and semiconductor company came shortly after the voluntary resignation of KPMG on Sept 4.

The resignation is scheduled to take effect on Sept 25.

Previously, in a separate filing, Globetronics announced that UHY Malaysia had been shortlisted as its new auditor, pending the formalisation of the appointment.

Shares of Globetronics closed unchanged today, giving it a market capitalisation of RM371.46 million.
