THE eight traders whose stalls and wares were seized by Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) will be getting the help of an MP to get them back, Malaysia Nanban reported.

The eight traders had set up temporary stalls opposite the waterfall fountain in Brickfields where the City Council had reportedly allowed Deepavali stalls.

However, last Thursday night, DBKL enforcement officers who visited the area confiscated the stalls and goods.

The eight stalls were apparently further from the approved area and the officers deemed them to be a hazard to the public.

Batu MP P. Prabakaran, who is also Malaysian Indian Transformation Unit (Mitra) chairman, visited the area on Friday and said he will discuss the matter with DBKL and help the traders get back their goods and stalls.

He added that he would also help them get permission to set up their stalls in the area.
