A VIRAL photo of a flyover being literally inches away from existing shop houses has gotten netizens questioning such projects.

A netizen asked if these projects are angering these small business owners as they block their premises.

However, at the same time, netizens joked that such projects are probably providing them with free awning.

Another user expressed concerns about accidents and the potential dangers posed by flyovers built over houses and shop lots.

Others stated that the area thrived until the flyover was constructed. New malls replaced older businesses, causing many to relocate. Some businesses remain, but the user claims the area has become a hot spot for youth engaging in unusual activities at night.

Additionally, an X user claimed that the owners either refused to sell or wanted a higher price for their properties at the time of the construction.

They pointed out that this is the result of wanting more for what they were supposed to receive. It is unclear if this is factual, but it could be the sentiment among some property owners. — Dec 7, 2024
