FBM KLCI: 1,530.92 pts (-31.39pts, -2.01%)

The FBM KLCI (-2.0%) declined significantly for the entire trading session as investors were spooked by the one-off Cukai Makmur as well as the changes in contract notes stamp duty; KLCI heavyweights such as PCHEM (-34.0 sen) and most of the banking heavyweights like PBBANK (-13.0 sen) and CIMB (-18.0 sen) were traded lower. Market breadth was negative as the losers thumped the gainers by 996-to-178 stocks. Meanwhile, the broader market was splashed in red, with property sector (-4.0%) taking the biggest hit, dragged by SPSETIA (-18.0 sen), SIMEPROP (-7.0 sen), and ECOWLD (-12.0 sen), followed by the construction sector (-3.6%).
