FBM KLCI: 1,522.88 pts (-3.99pts, -0.26%)
The FBM KLCI (-0.3%) surrendered earlier gains to close lower as the losses in plantation counters outweighed the gains in banking and healthcare heavyweights. Market breadth remained negative as the losers hammered the gainers by 641-to-330 stocks. The plantation sector (-1.7%) took a breather as selling pressure emerged in SIMEPLT (-12.0 sen), IOICORP (-10.0 sen), and KLK (-54.0 sen). Meanwhike, the healthcare sector (+0.8%) was the biggest advancer on the broader market, led by IHH (+8.0 sen) and glove counters.
