The FBM KLCI (+0.1%) posted marginal gains, tracking the overnight optimism on Wall Street despite the Fed’s hawkish statement; buying interest was largely evident in banking and energy heavyweights. Market breadth turned positive as the gainers led the losers by 504-to-361 stocks. The energy sector (+1.7%) outperformed the mixed broader market, mainly supported by gains in DIALOG (+3.0 sen), ARMADA (+2.0 sen), and HIBISCS (+5.5 sen) amid higher crude oil price buoyed by falling US crude stockpiles.
