FBM KLCI: 1,522.76 pts (-2.97pts, -0.19%)

The FBM KLCI (-0.2%) took a breather after a mild rally, tracking the overnight plunge on Wall Street. Market breadth, however, remained positive as the gainers outnumbered the losers by 553-to-324 stocks. The energy sector (+3.77%) managed to gain traction, outperforming the mixed broader market, lifted by gains in DIALOG (+7.0 sen), HIBISCS (+9.0 sen), and ARMADA (+2.0 sen) as investors piled into the sector amid firmer crude oil price hovering above the USD90 per barrel mark.
