FBM KLCI: 1,465.80 pts (+15.48pts, +1.07%)

The FBM KLCI (+1.07%) ended the week with sharp gains following the positive cue from Wall Street overnight, mainly powered by a surge in banking heavyweights. Market breadth remained positive as the advancers outpaced the decliners by 580-to-278 stocks. The broader market ended largely in the green but the plantation sector (-0.47%) was the sole declining sector. Meanwhile the financial services sector (+1.44%) gained traction, propelled by PBBANK (+13.0 sen), MAYBANK (+11.0 sen), and CIMB (+9.0 sen).
