The FBM KLCI (-0.95%) retreated along with the regional peers following the negative cue from Wall Street overnight. Market breadth turned negative as the decliners thumped the advancers by 529-to-296 stocks. The energy sector (+0.75%) outperformed the negative broader market, led by VELESTO (+1.0 sen), YINSON (+2.0 sen), and DAYANG (+5.0 sen) as crude oil price jumped after Putin’s announcement on partial military mobilisation which raised concerns over Russian energy supplies.
