The FBM KLCI (-0.14%) erased earlier losses to close in the negative territory as the key index succumbed to selling pressure in Petronas-related and selected banking heavyweights. Market breadth was negative as the decliners outnumbered the advancers by 445-to-420 stocks. The telecommunications & media (+1.23%) and transportation & logistics (+1.23%) sectors led gains, with the former lifted by AXIATA (+14.0 sen), DIGI (+5.0 sen), and TM (+6.0 sen), and the latter buoyed by WPRTS (+9.0 sen), AIRPORT (+11.0 sen), and MISC (+3.0 sen).
