The FBM KLCI (+0.31%) closed higher, despite the mixed regional stock markets' performances; the key index was boosted by selected Telco, Banking and Industrial Product heavyweights, namely CDB (+8.0 sen), MAYBANK (+7.0 sen) and PCHEM (+9.0 sen). Market breadth was positive as gainers were ahead of losers by 523-to-465 stocks. On the broader market, the Construction sector (+0.93%) was the leading sector led by buying interest in IJM (+8.0 sen) and GAMUDA (+6.0 sen), while the Energy sector (-0.99%) declined due to selling pressure in YINSON (-5.0 sen) and VELESTO (-1.0 sen).
