FBM KLCI: 1,629.97 pts (-11.58pts, -0.71%)

Despite stronger regional markets performance, the FBM KLCI (-0.71%) saw a pullback after reaching an intraday high of around 1,639 level, as selling pressure from Telco and Media heavyweights, namely MAXIS (-22.0 sen) and CDB (-9.0 sen), dragged down sentiment on the index. Moreover, investors might have traded cautiously ahead of key US economic data to due later tonight and rising tension in Middle East. Market breadth was negative, with losers outnumbering gainers by 610-to-410 stocks. In the broader market, the Energy sector (+4.10%) extended its gains, led by DIALOG (+6.0 sen) and DAYANG (+22.0 sen), benefiting from a spike in crude oil prices, while the Telco and Media sector (-1.75%) declined the most.
