Working Experience
Farehana binti Hanapiah is the Senior Vice President, Group Human Resource Management, PETRONAS since 1 January 2020. With over 31 years work experience in PETRONAS, Farehana started her career as an internal auditor and has since held multiple managerial and leadership roles in corporate strategy, planning, and risk, commercial and joint venture development, and human resource management. In recent years, Farehana has held roles of General Manager of Corporate Planning, Head of Commercial and Joint Venture Development for PETRONAS' megaproject RAPID, and in 2015, she joined human resources management as the Chief Executive Officer of PETRONAS Leadership Centre. Her key contributions include leading the streamlining of enterprise risk management, strategic portfolio management, and economic evaluation methods for businesses and projects. Throughout her period in HR, she led the revamp of learning and development approach with the introduction of digital learning and leadership in-role development programs. Prior to her appointment as Senior Vice President, she was Head of Human Capital Expertise and responsible in redefining the HR operating model. Today, as PETRONAS reshapes its business portfolio and future talent mix, she leads a corporate human resources initiative to redefining the end-to-end talent ecosystem to deliver an empowered, agile, and enabled workforce.
