Datuk Adif was the Executive Vice President (EVP) & Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Upstream Business, where he oversaw the strategic direction and operations in oil and gas exploration, production, and development across more than 20 countries as well as carbon management. One of his notable achievements in this capacity was the establishment of the Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) as a new business stream, in line with PETRONAS' Energy Transition Strategy. His leadership also drove Upstream to achieve record-breaking performance, including producing more than 2 million barrels of oil equivalent per day in Malaysia in 2024 and adding 1.76 billion barrels of oil equivalent in resources in 2023. 

Datuk Adif joined PETRONAS in 1993 as a reservoir engineer and has since held various leadership roles in the company, including EVP and CEO of the Gas and New Energy Business, Senior Vice President of Development and Production Upstream Business, and Senior Vice President of Corporate Strategy. 

He is also an active member within the petro-technical community, having served as Chairman of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Asia Pacific Regional Advisory Council and a member of the international advisory committee for Offshore Technology Conference Asia (OTCA). He has also served as the Vice Chair of the E&P Working Committee for the International Gas Union.

Datuk Adif bin Zulkifli (Datuk Adif) is involved in the PETRONAS Group* via:

(a) directorships held in companies within the Petroliam Nasional Berhad (PETRONAS) Group*; and
(b) his office as Executive Vice President & Chief Executive Officer of PETRONAS Gas & Maritime Business.

His Involvement in the PETRONAS Group may be viewed as potential conflict of interest. 

Our Company proposes to introduce and implement measures to resolve, eliminate or mitigate such potential conflicts and continuously monitor, review and assess such potential conflicts of interests of Datuk Adif, being a Chairman and Director of the Company.
