Mr Lau Joo Yong was the Chief Operating Officer for Peninsular Forest Management Sdn. Bhd., a Business Development Manager for Alam Muhibah Sdn. Bhd. and a Business Development Manager for Ikatan Kayangan Sdn. Bhd.

He sits on the board of various private limited companies involving business in oil palm plantation and investment holdings.

He is a trustee of Lau Eng Guang Dialysis Charitable Foundation.

He is also an Executive Director of Comfort Gloves Berhad appointed on 9 September 2014 and the Group Chief Executive Officer of Comfort Gloves Berhad since 31 March 2021.

He is the nephew of Mr Lau Chia Nguang and Tan Sri Lau Tuang Nguang; and the cousin of Datuk Lau Joo Hong, Mr Lau Joo Han and Mr Lau Joo Keat, who are the Directors/major shareholders of the Company.
