Tan Sri Datuk Seri Gan Yu Chai is the Managing Director of Southern Score Sdn. Bhd. (Southern Score) since 2012 and is responsible for developing and executing business strategies of Southern Score and managing its corporate development.
He has more than 30 years of experience in the property development and construction industries. To date, Tan Sri Gan has successfully completed over 20 property development projects in the Klang Valley area.
Upon graduation, Tan Sri Gan began his career as a business partner in Unigreen Hardware Supplies, a building materials trading business co-owned by his family. He was tasked to oversee the sales department before taking over the management and operations of this business.
Between 1994 and 2016, Tan Sri Gan pursued several business ventures. He was also involved in the management of these companies by setting growth targets and sourcing business opportunities that contributed to the growth of these companies.
Notably, his first foray into property development was in relation to the development of Pelangi Condominium in Kuala Lumpur. Tan Sri Gan subsequently completed development projects in Taman Melati Utama and Setapak Lake City, Kuala Lumpur.
In 2010, Tan Sri Gan ventured downstream into construction. This led to the establishment of Southern Score to pursue opportunities in the provision of construction services mainly for high-rise residential buildings.
Under Tan Sri Gan's leadership, Southern Score participated in tenders for public and private sector construction projects. Southern Score was awarded its first construction services project, namely the PR1MA Jalan Jubilee project by PR1MA Corporation Berhad in 2015. Between 2012 and 2019, Tan Sri Gan was involved in the development projects (i) FACE, Platinum Suites (Phase 1), (ii) MH Platinum Residence and (iii) Platinum Teratai Residences.

(i) Southern Score Builders Berhad (formerly known as G Neptune Berhad)

Tan Sri Datuk Seri Gan Yu Chai is the father of Gan Yee Hin, the Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of Southern Score Builders Berhad (formerly known as G Neptune Berhad) ("SSB") and the major shareholder of SSB via his direct interest in Super Advantage Property Sdn Bhd, a major shareholder of SSB.
