Before joining IJM in 1979 as an engineer of Mudajaya Construction Sdn Bhd, he was an engineer with the Drainage and Irrigation Department, Pahang. He was appointed Project Manager of IJM in 1988, General Manager in 1992, Director (Projects) in 1994, Alternate Director in 1998, Group Executive Director ("GED") in 2001 and Senior Group General Manager cum GED in 2003. He was then re-designated Senior General Manager & Executive Director in 2004 until his resignation on 30 January 2010.
