He is the Honorary Legal Advisor of the Muar Furniture Association, the Muar Chinese Chambers of Commerce and several other non-government organisations. He was also elected State Assemblyman for the constituency of Maharani, Muar, Johor Darul Takzim for the period from 1995 to 1999. He was appointed as a Non-Independent Non-Executive Director of the Company on 2 May 2001 and is presently a member of the Remuneration Committee and the Nomination Committee. He is also a Director of several private limited companies.
