He started his career as a Qualified Assistant with Coopers & Lybrand London from 1973 and returned to Malaysia in 1974 to work as an auditor with Kassim Chan for three years. He joined Arab-Malaysian Merchant Bank Berhad as a Senior Manager in 1978 and was made the Executive Director of the Arab-Malaysian Group in 1984. In 1987, he joined Raleigh Berhad as the Chief Executive Officer and was the Group Managing Director of Berjaya Group Berhad from 1989 to 1992. He was the Managing Director of KFC Malaysia Bhd from 1993 to 1994. He was the Deputy Chairman of Anglo Eastern Plantations Plc in 1994 to 1998. He is currently the Chief Executive Officer of PL Advisory Services Sdn. Bhd. and Premier Advisory Services Sdn. Bhd., both of which are his own consultancy practices. He is also the Chairman of Rockwills Corporation Sdn. Bhd., a financial planning group with a nationwide will writing franchise.
