Working Experience
Ms. Shanthi Kandiah started her career at the Securities Commission Malaysia in 1993. She was part of the pioneer team that oversaw seminal law reform initiatives towards modernising and strengthening the Malaysian capital markets. Among others, she participated in the major overhaul and streamlining of key securities legislation. She was involved in the writing of the Finance Committee Report on Corporate Governance and the first Malaysian Code on Corporate Governance which served as the blueprint for corporate governance reforms in the Malaysia. She has also co-authored Malaysia's reports for the World Bank and Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development ("OECD"). She founded SK Chambers (the "firm") in 2015 which specialises in legal and regulatory advice in competition law, data protection and cybersecurity, telecommunications and multimedia regulations and other aspects of regulatory compliance.
