Sumatec announced in a filing with Bursa Malaysia that it had entered into a heads of agreement with Markmore Sdn Bhd for the proposed acquisition of a 100% stake in MELL.

MELL holds the entire participatory interest in CaspiOilGas LLP (COG), which, in turn, is the concession owner and operator of the Rakushechnoye O&G field located in Kazakhstan.

I have discovered SUMATEC last two weeks. The share price has gone up since that to as high as 13sen.
Still thinking ? You decide yourself.
It is now starting to reflect its fundamental value of 56sen. This is based on my opinion of its FY18 DCF valuation. For short-term, I expect SUMATEC will hit 25sen.
In fact, my DCF valuation is assumed conservatively and lower than management guidance here:

At present, Sumatec is the only listed vehicle on Bursa Malaysia where Halim’s name surfaces.

Last Thursday, the company’s market capitalisation was RM223.22 million — a far cry from its last peak of about RM2.1 billion back in August 2014 when global oil prices began their long tumble from a peak of US$114 on June 19, 2014.

Halim is confident that Sumatec’s fortunes will improve once the legacy issues are resolved and it is able to focus on the Rakushechnoye field operations.

To get there, however, he will need other Sumatec shareholders to agree to the proposed acquisition and its related proposals — a tough proposition as many may hesitate to put more money into the company, given its performance in the past few years.

Time will tell if the latest proposals bear its promised fruits.

Central Asia is considered a untapped oil and gas resource virgin. Sumatec is in the midst of it and for it low priced share it belongs to a low to medium risk stock with good potential. The share has the capacity to reach $ 1.00 mark in months rather than years. Good stock to accumulate. Looking at its 3 months chart, it has reached the " three peaks" within a short period with daily new highs and increased closing lows. My understanding is given the fundamentals of the company it is one that is poised for steady growth with periods of side way movement.thumbup

Buy or Sell...its depend on your consideration

Sumatec said said it was informed by its partner CaspiOilGas LLP (COG) that oil production at the Rakushechnoye oilfield in Kazakhstan will reach 1,500 barrels of oil a day (bbl/d) by end of March.


Another 1,000 barrel bbl/d can be added to the oil production after the completion of 12 well workovers by end of August.
