let me just clarify a little more when i said hold on buying till after CNY. You can buy if you want to if you are for long term. nothing wrong with this. it is just that you may need to average down after CNY. If you have excess cash, then no probem.

sorry for not making my points clearer. personally at 2.85 price, I would rather go for some REITS.

well...nothing much to think or fear of. If BN does not declare election before then, it shows that they are just waiting for their fate.

reason for me to airasia is due to tony fernandez actually. personally, i would not count on its divident for now. for long term, i think it is good to keep it for like 1 - 3 years. I made my money on airasia when i sold 3.30 last year. I think i bought at 1.60 3 years ago. well..i suggest hold on your buying till after CNY. seems to me downtrend will happen instead.

I know from past nestle has split its price. At current 62 - 63 price, if you ask me, it is too high. anyone has any idea when this will take place?

some what warren says does make sense once you start to do it in a practical way. an example would be his call to buy when everyone sells. I have been investing in stocks for the past 5 - 7 years. I usually buy into stocks for long term. it works for me if you think pragmatically.

isseymiyake, it looks like your portfolio is based on divident model. i am doing something similar as well using my EPF money.

to me, Digi is good stock for long term. like someone pointed out, divident is pretty good (>6%). at the moment, it seems like its price is expensive. otherwise, you can consider buying this stock at smaller quantity and average it down if it happen to drop further.

sorry. my point is that you invest in stock equities for long term but not to speculate unless you have mountain of time in your hands. I know for the fact that most stock speculators tend to lose more than they gain. so, that's 2 cents for you.

when you use technical analysis, it is always based on certain historical return. from there if there are no other external factors, you can roughly know the pattern. it is usually almost impossible to buy at lowest and sell at the highest. If you know how to use chart analysis, it will help out. that's what i did when i wanted to buy or sell at certain timing.

if you are looking for good divident & good capital appreciation, you can consider stocks like nestle, Amway and F&N though at the moment they appear to be overpriced. I have been buying these stocks for more than several years. almost gain 100%-150% before counting divident. this is especially good if you are talking long term investments.
