Ok la @Michael you probably held on your GenB shares for over a yr. Im usually impatient with my wrong trades. I do cut loss on the same day itself or the very next day when things go bad unexpectedly after trade entries.

No need nonstop monitoring la. I only review live chart when convenient. I remember back in early nov 2020, i was in attending a meeting one fateful afternoon. Whacked 1m GenB shares at average price 2.97 using my hp to trade. When there is will, there is a way. It can be done.

Good observation @Johnchew at least you also notice sister stock GenS' price action after her initial Q1 result hurrah. I mentioned this abt a week ago.

@Raymond we focus on rm588m as GenB doesn't own the balance 47% of GenS n 45% of GenP etc subsidiaries hence the focus is on attributable net profit after M.I, what truly belongs to GenB which will go into the Retained Earnings Reserve.

Traders can form their own opinion, but when the market disagrees with their opinion, they are not stubborn. Traders are quick to to accept their mistakes n make them good. We dont like to be stubborn n go against the market's price action. We join the winning side of the market.

Q1 NP rm588m, RM455m came from GenS. Just look at sister stock's performance (selldown after initial euphoria) can sometimes give a clue on how GenB will perform post Q1 result. Be alert and observant.

I guided him along to whack GenS just before result, long HSI a month ago, sell and sell short on HSI last week. He will be offered internship at a stock brokerage (event organiser) after this semester during school holiday. Im also learning when Im coaching. I backed up my analysis with both FA and TA. There were some trades that went bad but we cut losses quickly and let our profits run until we think the rally is really over.

If listen to analysts can huat, then everyone huat liow. If they really so good, no need to work as salary worker analysts liow can trade with own money and huat themselves. Only experienced, sharp and cunning stock traders make money.

Rm588m is close to rm600m, not bad liow. I think UK n ER quite hopeless for now. RWLV seems ok.

Look at Dow, HSI and KLCI today. How to expect this stock to be strong today? Betting on GenB result can be risky especially USA operations usually dragging overall group performance down. Just hope that Empire manage to secure NYC full casino licence, then quickly IPO off the USA operations including RWLV which is 100% debt financed. We are entering a higher interest rate environment so those USA debts will eventually be rolled over at much higher rate.

GenS good result already priced in hence you get to see 4.70+ now. GenB's net profit need to be at least rm600m to show that attributable net profit from subsidiaries GenP, RWG, Empire, RWLV etc are giving rm145m. The bar is not high at all for Q1 NP rm600m.

@Choysun, chart still bullish but may pullback. Price probably wont drop much (support at 4.60 zone) until the actual D-Day GenB result.

It was a huge gap up + minor short covering. But by morning 9.30am the bears have taken over. Should have trusted the price action. Yes, should have given it a little more time until afternoon session on hindsight. I understand you were affected by the dow's rally last night + SIA headline news + the initial strong opening hurrah. It was indeed a tough spot to be in. Trading is never easy. Your competitors are all very smart and has huge financial muscle to move short term price (the whales). A good trader needs strong mental psychology and conviction to your own research. Need a balance of discretion when to make a decisive cutloss or when to hold a position a little longer that has moved against you.

We all learn along the way and become more savvy. Continue to do homework and make observations. Trade properly, dont do amateur punting. I wish you good luck @Don. Forever a student of the stock market.

SIA bearish engulfing with huge vol today. Can be dangerous to trade on headline news "SIA made historical record $2.7B yearly profit". Those amateurs who bought this morning all kena trapped liow. The devil is always in the detailed analysis of previous quarters of profit growth/decline. No doubt SIA is regionally the early mover in opening up their skies for air travel, but this advantage of charging sky high priced tickets to make super profits is over as all other airlines are catching up. The days of super profit is over and going back to profit normalisation. The market is always forward looking.

Good traders dont just read charts only. They do also FA like analysis of financial statements, analysis of industry landscape, then form their own opinion. Amateurs only see professionals keying in orders and make profit.... wah like very easy. The amateurs didnt see all the time and hardwork professionals put in when doing their homework.

@choysun, price action not looking good over the past 3 days. GenS is the source of this bullish rally but its share price has dropped back down, trapping many punters who bought this week. From my previous observations, GenS may report excellent Q results but GenB sometimes may not be able to follow thru with excellent Q result. GenB's P&L always showing huge amortisation + interest expenses charges, largely caused by USA operations like Empire and RWLV. These USA entities may show positive EBITA but its actually running at a net loss, dragging the whole group level net profit down. I do hope it will not be the case again for this Q1 GenB result. Good traders dont just read charts, they also do some FA as well.

Aiya mai so pessimistic la. LKT's sushi knife for minority shareholders is very sharp hence reflected in the stock price (collapsed since Empire RPT). We are dealing with the stock market so we go with the flow of the stock chart.

I turned bullish a week ago. Would have been another Immediately Buy, Immediately Huat trade. All my money invested into Taurx liow which I think can give much much higher return than stock trading. @neohts you need to be mentally prepared to be very disappointed. We cannot control where price will be moving. We cannot direct the wind but we can adjust our sails.

It is against human nature to be a good trader. When price is moving against them, the professionals "take immediate action" cut their losses very quickly. Amateurs usually held on losing positions, "hope and hope" for price to recover. When price is moving correctly after trade execution, its time to hope for price to move higher. But amateurs usually cut their profits too quickly to lock in meagre profit. So when its time to "take immediate action", amateurs will be clinging on to "hope". When its time to "hope", amateurs have a tendency to "take action" too early.

Charts are easily available. Everyone incl amateurs n top professionals are reading the same chart. Need to see how skillful the reader to interpret the trend n price action.

Thats what will usually happen when people dont read chart before buying or selling. Opinions are often wrong. Anyway chart reading is just a small skill. Trader's mental psychology and position sizing are much more important factors for success. Be patient, strike at the right time. When its time to strike, do not procrastinate. Dont worry too much abt Taurx. 20 years ago i immediately bought immediately huat. 2.5yrs ago i bet showhand immediately bought immediately huat also. I think still got good chance of price appreciation over the next few months hence bought back some shares that i sold off previously. No need for me to do anything now. Just sit back relax n wait for next critical event for price to spike up.

If we project Q1 result into 4 quarters, GenS can make abt S$1b net profit after tax for 2024 = Rm3.5B. Financial wise, will the thai govt welcome GenS to bid for thai casino licence? Financial aspects aside, the devil is always in the details on what the bidders can offer inside their proposals for thailand integrated casino resort. Hence, someone with even bigger financial muscle is not guaranteed to win the casino licence.

@keyman, fda AA final decision at least one yr away. If cannot secure this, taurx will have to go for ipo route which is not a favourable outcome for me. I believe we have good chance for fda AA.
