HiapTeck is now hampered by poor economy in the region. And iron ore has dived I.e. it will suffer in revenue when it can't sell its iron ore profitably.

Hmmm,.... losing steam here. So sad. If you look at Efficient E-solutions the volume is just picking up steam, the pattern is like Dataprep five days ago.

Petronas latest news... they want to speed up diversify into other forms of energy like renewable energy. This is critical news, meaning oil won't return to heydays. Biggest chunk of MHB's revenue comes from oil/gas industry. When electric cars become cheap and convenient,...

With so much cash in hand, Tan Sri definitely looking at new ventures, something newer and more trendy. Likely to be manufacturing based (given his long term success with water meters mfg.). Hopefully Johan gets into glove or medical device.

Another IT company EFFICIENT E-SOLUTIONS doing similar trend stock price rising last 5 days, but has not accelerated like Dataprep. Daily volumes there increasing. Heard Singapore Post may use it for data storage for its biz in Msia/Thai/Vietnam. Also use Efficient's imaging solutions in newly 38%-acquired Australia-based Freight Management Holdings P.L.

DATAPREP has risen like crazy. Next will be this counter. Trend is similar. Stock price have been moving upwards last 3 days. Also heard EFFICIENT's shareholder SINGPOST getting assistance from its shareholders SINGTEL and ALIBABA to acquire more logistic companies and develop a more holistic IT platform.

I think stock price will descend till RM0.075 and then stay flat till the property market picks up. Johan's e-wallet initiatives won't grow unless willing to invest a lot and fight in the hot market. Many e-wallets die off due to low traffic.

Sigh. Yah what happened? Now price drop below the pre-news of ECRL. Something that the public does not know?

Daim said it clearly, local players should be proactive as the ECRL is an international tender. PH is clear to make it a global tendering. No more 'preferred local'. Is MRCB still keen to bid given its weak expertise? Does GKent want to partner MRCB now that it can choose other international players? Japanese and South Koreans contractors have a fair fight now and they may bid directly.
GKent couldn't get license to Elster's Smart Meters, that's why they don't OEM or even sell smart meters. Smart metering is not even on their website! So if govt decide to go for Smart Meters, then GKent traditional meters face a super risk of being sidelined. Hopefully the govt's capex for water industry is to build more water dams, in which GKent may be able to bid for if it can re-build its water dam engineers team (most have left).

How sure are we that GKent is going to bid for ECRL? How sure are we with the new leadership in MRCB, that it still wants to partner GKent?

If I were TST, I would not push Johan up. I will let it be low price and ask friendly parties to buy up. Remember TST wanted to take the vehicle private last year but failed.

For HSR, Singapore will invite powerful international players and give high scores for expertise and length of experience (not just price). Malaysia will bid down the price like crazy to show everyone HSR doesn't cost that much. For ECRL, GKent can only go for Communications Equipment segment. If PH doesn't want to enrich MCA who is sitting on BOD of UTAR, you think PH wants to enrich Gkent who is still BossKu's buddy?

So price is rocketing becoz of ECRL? Does MUI have a lot of land all over N.S.? I think the ECRL line will not pass Seremban as it is too far south of NS. Better places could be Lenggeng, Labu, Sepang, then cross to Banting then Port Klang. The government always want to open up new small towns and make them into cities. The China partners have the technology to do these very fast for Malaysia.

Global growth is expected to slow to 2.9 percent in 2019. International trade and investment are moderating, trade tensions remain elevated, and financing conditions are tightening. Amid recent episodes of financial stress, growth in emerging market and developing economies has lost momentum and is projected to stall at 4.2 percent this year, with a weaker-than-expected rebound in commodity exporters accompanied by deceleration in commodity importers. Downside risks have become more acute. Financial market pressures and trade tensions could escalate, denting global activity. (ref: http://www.worldbank.org/en/publication/global-economic-prospects )

No need to buy LKL for the next 12 months. Now with poor government budget, hospitals are forced to squeeze. Hospital beds must be used longer than the normal (instead of buying new ones). And maintenance must be cut.

And now they won RHB bank's business for entire IT outsourcing. This shows the robustness of their IT setup in SOLSIS. Able to win banks means their IT security is superb and fulfill Bank Negara's stringent criteria. This reputation will fly far.

Johan's NAV is 0.32 so I am very sure some people are already slowly collecting. The venture into property is a good idea but at a wrong time. However, Tan Sri is smart to think how to move things. He has a lot of China connection now thanks to GK's rail bids.

One thing few people understand is that both Najib and Tun are Tan Sri's friends. They go back a long way. GE14 outcome will not impact the smooth running projects of GKent. Just bought plenty at 2.76

Johan's latest results already expected by analysts. So is not the main reason for drop. Gkent's drop is probably due to GE14 coming.

Investors are worried about outcome of GE14. With Tan Sri being close to PM, the shares has been dropping. The point is, no matter who wins the GE, all businesses will still run. The political party that wins will always work with the business communities.

The American Petroleum Institute (API) reported a large draw of 5.121 million barrels of United States crude oil inventories for the week ending January 12, marking seven large draws in seven weeks, according to the API data. Analysts had expected a drawdown of only 3.588 million barrels.

Try not to link EPF's stock trading protocol to PM Office. EPF has got strict mandate to attain their KPI(s) to bring in good returns. EPF is a big and aggressive player in the Bursa scene. It's pure business for them to trade.

Stock: [HIAPTEK]: HIAP TECK VENTURE BHD
2021-09-16 21:51 | Report Abuse
Yes VincentTang, steel price is dropping and will continue to be so because iron ore is gonna be dirt cheap. All competitors to HiapTeck will be buying iron ore at a super low price iron ore and churn out steel to sell at lower price. Competition will be there so prices (revenue) will drop. China is reducing steel production by restricting steel exports, i.e. China will still produce enough steel for all its domestic use (self sufficiency). We will see steel imports into China dropping too.
