What is more important why the local & foreign funds are still on selling spree?

Eventhough the majority shareholder Tune Air is keen buyer but still again the local & foreign funds are keen seller.

Even British business magnate Richard Branson's Virgin Atlantic Airways wanted out from Airasia X. Ever wonder why?

1. Folks, AirAsia's cost advantage has narrowed with the entry of Malindo Airways.

2. Yields are set to decline and profit contribution from AirAsia's biggest market will recede.

Why would you fly cattle class when you go 'first'?

Forget about that, why fly with an airline renowned for leaving its passengers stranded?

Here's an airline that is insolvent that will not - or can not - refund passengers after deserting them on the French, UK, India and NZ routes in 2011-12.

Folks, once you're hit by a few of those extras - that passengers get for free on any full-service luxury carrier - AirAsia [US$239] skyrockets to well above KLM [US$129] and Malaysian Airlines [US$207].

Still think AirAsia is cheap? Hahahahahahahahah!!

Folks, think about that for a minute. A skanky 'cut-price' budget airline - yes, we understand the irony in that label - is more expensive than a number of the best airlines in the world. How can shoddy AirAsia be more expensive?

Worse still more expensive than luxury full-service airlines. Example as below:-

1. Kuala Lumpur to Jakarta
- KLM Royal Dutch US$129.00
- Airasia X US$141.00 (+++ baggage, food, seating)

2. Singapore to Perth
- British Airways S$738.40
- Airasia X S$802.00 (+++ baggage, food, seating & stopover)

3. Singapore to Bali
- Qatar Airways S$261.40
- Airasia X S$266.00 (+++ baggage, food, seating)

Yes, the result of our first quarter 2012 Airfare Survey is in, and two of the world's most renowned airlines, KLM & Qatar, turn out to be cheaper than AirAsia - even before any of its '+++' extras have been factored in.

Tony confirmed his airline’s recent order for 300 Airbus A320neos. The deal, originally for 200 planes, was increased with an option for 100 more.

He played down concerns raised by some analysts about the possible debt implications of such a deal, saying the company was cash rich. Analysts have also said Malindo could threaten fast-growing AirAsia’s profit.

1. AirAsia has chosen Jakarta to be its regional headquarters in an effort to be seen as a Southeast Asian airline rather than just a Malaysian one.

2. It is having a tough time there, facing hardened competitors, jammed airports and powerful travel agents. Deep-pocketed rivals are sniffing around too.

3. Thailand was not so difficult. However, in Indonesia it is a no-holds-barred, 'street-fight' competitive environment.

4. “We should not spread our wings too wide, because the competition is very keen [in Indonesia]. If you only add one flight on a route, you could be dead meat because other airlines can dump seats and cause a lot of damage,” said Widjaja Indonesia AirAsia’s president director.

5. Success is not coming easily for in Indonesia for AirAsia, and becoming a major player, as it has done in Malaysia and Thailand, may prove elusive.

AirAsia, with an operating fleet of more than 100 aircraft, has ordered a total of 375 Airbus jets as part of dramatic expansion plans that now include the acquisition of Indonesia's Batavia Air.

The acquisition will accelerate deliveries as rising demand helps it offset high fuel costs. Not all analysts are convinced by AirAsia’s expansion plans.

Some local bankers say profits could be crimped by pressure from potential losses at start-up units in the Philippines and Japan and competition from new players such as Malaysia’s Malindo Airways next year.

AirAsia made a net operating profit of 130.94 million Malaysian ringgit ($42.64 million), excluding one-off items, in the second quarter this year, down slightly from the same quarter last year.

Net profit was boosted by a one-off gain of 1.16 billion ringgit following a share sale at its Thai unit.

In middle of 2010, credit should be given to AA for successfully persuading AirBus to allow them to defer the delivery of the air crafts.

From delivery of 24 aircraft each year to hold 8 each for 2010 & 2011. Deliveries are expected to run until 2014.

This move really gives them a fighting chance to survive and to overcome their insanity of building a company which was clearly over burdened by the immense corporate debts they took upon to finance the building of their business.

This is a POSITIVE CORPORATE exercise... it's certainly extremely crucial that AirAsia made this postponement of delivery.... but... deferring is only a postponement.... and in regardless, these air crafts order still needs to be delivered! AirAsia stock had done fairly well since then.

How? AirAsia still can meh?

From AirAsia announcement, the delivery schedule.

( first line would read, aircrafts no.97 to 110 or 14 new aircrafts will be delivered this year. This is part of the current A320 Airbus order.)

AirAsia move to axe Phuket-Bali, Ubon flights sparks ire from 'stranded' travellers - September 29, 2012

1. PHUKET: Low cost carrier AirAsia’s decision to cease operations from Phuket to Bali and to Ubon Ratchthani has sparked a storm of angry comments directed at AirAsia’s call center by passengers feeling that they have been left stranded.

2. The final flight from Phuket to Ubon Ratchathani will be today (September 29), and last flight to Bali tomorrow (September 30), the official Facebook page says.

3. In addition to their Phuket flights, the company will also stop its route from Bangkok to Colombo, Sri Lanka, on October 10.

4. However, many passengers who had already flown to those destinations complained that they were informed of the decision only after they had arrived.

5. AirAsia gave passengers who had already booked flights three options; adjust their travel plans to meet the last flight times; have the price of their tickets put in credit against their next AirAsia trip, or receive a full refund.

6. In one piece of positive news, the daily service from Phuket to Udon Thani, which had been suspended, will be reinstated from Monday, departing Phuket at 3:45pm.
