1. The entry of Malindo Airways and other no-frills carriers will help diversify MAHB’s clientele.

2. MAHB’s single client exposure risk with klia2 will be reduced as it will no longer need to be “subjugated” to AirAsia’s demands and complaints regarding the terminal.

Once KLIA2 is operational, MAHB will have almost 10 LCCs flying from it. Among them are Zest Airways, Lion Air, Tiger Airways, Cebu Pacific Air and definitely, AirAsia loh!

2. On 11/9/12, the news of a low-cost value carrier, Malindo Airways becoming a player in the region its market value was at Rm9.11 billion.

3. Closed at Rm2.87 on 25/9/12, its market capitalisation was reduced by a whopping RM1.139 billion following news of competition from new entrant Malindo Air.

Pressure on force sell will set in if this counter fail to close higher than Rm2.87 low, for the coming days as this counter was heavily transacted last week at Rm2.95 above.

Also some leveraged investors may find themselves with little choice but to sell because of margin calls.

1. If a company depends a lot on the high price of it's shares in the stock market to raise financing, in which the high revenue growth serve to propel speculation of it's shares based on the forecasted PE model, it will be faced with the question of sustaining that growth.

1. Malindo Airways is eyeing primarily AirAsia's lucrative domestic market in Malaysia especially the profitable Sabah and Sarawak routes.

2. Theoretically, Malindo Airways, being a new entrant in Malaysia, will go all out for market share at the expense of profits by undercutting prices.

3. AirAsia, on the other hand, may also want nip the competition in the bud by dropping fares which will result in a full-scale price war.

2. So far, AirAsia flies to many cities on a monopoly basis and competition is likely to be revived in Malaysia.

An analyst from Hong Leong Investment Bank said the stock price continued to fall on the formation of Malindo Airways which was perceived as a threat for AirAsia by some.

The stock, which closed at Rm3.19 on Tuesday, shed 17 sen to Rm3.02 on Wednesday and fell another 7 sen to Rm2.95 Thursday.

The share had at 11:46am Thursday DROPPED to a bottom of RM2.82!

So folks, dare to buy? Hahahahahahahah!

Folks, on 27/08/12 EPF total shares interest in Airasia was at 245,767,700 units only.

Latest announcement to bursa, as of 18/9/12, total number of shares were at 274,062,100 that is an increased of 28,294,400 units.

While other foriegn & local investors were heavily dumping this counter, EPF on the other hand has been buying from the high price of around Rm2.64 till the way down to the two week low of around Rm2.82 in order to support this counter no to fall & closed below it critical support level at Rm2.88.

Well folks, at least for this week EPF was seen successful in doing that with the price closing at Rm2.95.

Without the support from EPF the price will be much lower. Will there be more aggresive selling by local & foreign funds again? Time will tell, folks!!

1. Confident that Malindo Air will be able to be profitable quickly (less than one year) on domestic Malaysia including the profitable Sabah and Sarawak routes and Indonesian routes given the strong demand and existing client base to tap onto.

2. The house adds that with the entry of Malindo Air, AirAsia's virtual monopoly ceases and yields are SET TO DECLINE and profit contribution from AirAsia's biggest market will RECEDE.

3. Note that AirAsia Indonesia's operations are significantly less profitable compared with its Malaysian operations - by Maybank Research House.
