KL-SG HSR RFI Briefing Attracts Over 700 Local and International Participants

Kuala Lumpur, 27 July 2023: The Kuala Lumpur-Singapore High Speed Rail (KL-SG HSR)
Request For Information (RFI) briefing received an overwhelming response from over 700 representatives from local and international companies, as well as foreign missions, today. Hosted by MyHSR Corporation Sdn Bhd (MyHSR Corp) at the auditorium of the Ministry of Finance in Putrajaya, the briefing provided an overview of the RFI process, including the timeline for local and international firms as well as consortia to submit concept proposals for the KL-SG HSR project based on a public-private partnership model.

The concept proposal stage will start from the distribution of the RFI Documents from 11 August up to the closing date of 15 November for the submission.

During the briefing, MyHSR Corp shared that the project structure would be based on the Design-Finance-Build-Operate-Transfer (DFBOT) model, and participating firms and consortia must demonstrate the ability to develop this project with a proven track record, technical expertise, resources, and project management capabilities in order to complete this major infrastructure development within the budgeted cost, quality, and time.

The Minister of Economy said the Government will be announcing some RM25b worth of national projects under the Energy Transition Roadmap (ETR). The first phase of the roadmap will consist of 10 national flagship energy transition projects to be developed with the participation of the private sector, as part of the Government’s structural reforms of the economy.
The exact details of the 10 flagship projects have not been shared, the Minister of Economy had indicated previously that total investments worth RM637b until 2050 is required to achieve the RE target, which includes investments in RE generation sources, strengthening of grid infrastructure including transmission lines enhancement, energy storage system integration and operation costs of grid system networks.
MIDF notes that there are pockets of opportunities within the sector, particularly in the RE space backed by strong Government support to develop a “green economy”. Top picks include YTL Power (BUY, TP: RM1.54) as a play into RE exports and the group’s new strategic focus on building up RE and data centre capacity.

Like SPEAKUP said, privatise at RM1.50. That means the successful bidder with buy up BPLANT and BPLANT will be delisted. Retailers mandatory general offer (MGO) for retailers is also RM1.50.

Rohank71: OLDTOWN Ptivatisation: in 2018, Jacob, a Ducth company voluntarary bought OLDTOWN shares from the substatial shareholders at a price of RM3.18 (10.42% above the last trading price). Thus, the mandatory general offer to retailers is also 3.18. After the official annoucement, the share price is adjusted to 3.18/3.19. I am hoping something like this. PETALING JAYA: YTL Power International Bhd appears to be gearing up to further its renewable energy (RE) ambitions, says MIDF Research.

Following a report that the YTL group could be one of the parties that have put in a bid for Boustead Holdings Bhd’s 57% stake in Boustead Plantations Bhd (BPlant), the research firm said YTL’s interest could stem from its RE ambitions, which requires sizeable land bank to house potential RE assets, as well as data centres.

The other bidders are said to comprise mainly plantation players, namely IOI Corp Bhd, Kuala Lumpur Kepong Bhd and Singapore-listed Wilmar International Ltd.

Monday 19 June 2023: For one whole day, YTLP try to defend the RM1.29/1.30. Finally, it managed to close at RM1.30.

Today no magic show for YTL. Closed at 0.965, down 0.01. Don't know how many more sen it will go down. The RM1 dream did not materialise. Sad. Got to wait for the final week of August.

Both YTL and YTLP still under selling pressure.
