As I have said it is only too good to be true as far as Jaks is concerned. If you take the whole project view, the return is reasonable. Nothing unbelievable.

It is only too good to be true as far as Jaks is concerned. It only needed to pay US$30m to get 30% ownership. But that is because Jaks secured the project so it has the upper hand in the negotiation.

Ooi Teik Bee I visited the site, the power plant is real.
Jaks paid for my accommodation.
Mr Koon paid for my air ticket. Mr Koon wanted me to go with him.

My comment is DK66 is very good and knowledgeable.

My tips to DK66.
If I am not mistaken, I was told during the meeting, the projected profit for Jaks is around 200 million to 250 million for first 5 years.
The profit will be reducing after 5th year.
This figure is from horse mouth.

I always knew that the Hai Duong power plant is a Jackpot to Jaks. I knew it will make tons of money but I can't substantiate my findings. With the announcement from Vietnam government, it substantiates my earlier comments about this Hai Duong Project.

So, if you know the capacity payment, you know the minimum valuation of the power plant.

Power plants under BOT contracts are protected by the PPA which has an element of Capacity payment which is paid to the plant operators regardless of anything; whether the plant is operating, output level, etc.

This is the minimum payment the plant operator will receive throughout the 25 years.

Most importantly, learn how to source insider information. In this case, if you can get a copy of the Power Purchase Agreement on Hai Duong Power Plant, you know everything !

I can't answer his question either. I suppose nobody has a right answer.

Is 10 a fair PE ? Well, one way to judge is to compare with the industrial average.
