Bursa would be an example of not so good. Price at 9.25 divvy .25. Received 40k but price lack lustre there after. And I knew, based on past, no more divvy for 6 months. Sold , luckily. Only profited 20k at the end. And as you can see , price is 8.11 or so. So yeah. Really depends.

And not that it matters for me. But price still 8.20. So , yeah, not always bad this dividend.

Really depends on the counter and your entry price of course. Recent maybank divvy was superb windfall. Entered a lot at 8.21. Price increased to 8.33, post divy , price dropped to 7.96. Same day , increased to 8.27 and closed at 8.21. Completely free dividend. Do the maths.

They desperately want us to sell. You see, if no substantial volume queue on the right side then they can't close their position. So in fact , they're justing buying their own shares. Left hand buying from right hand and then selling back to the left hand. Pushing the price lower and creating fear.
They need people to sell to acquire shares from outside their circle. And who going to sell this cheap ? Its a zero sum game and they are racking up their fees , interest chargers and upcoming dividend. The wise will hold.
