Let's see if shorties still dare to attack Monday. Judging from their comments / posts , their plan is to aggressively short after div. Since there will be an adjustment of 25 cents, an attack would make it look like a very large drop and may panic some. If your position is long , stay calm.

Just curious, did anyone get at 10.56 price but queued to buy at higher price ? Does it work both ways ? For example , i queued to sell TG at 5.38 but after huge buy in. All my shares done at 5.41 higher than my asking price. Does this happen on the reverse ? Thanks for any info.

Look guys. Public record. Estimate 7.77 bill raised with 1.495 bill shares. Its really simple maths , 5.20 per share. And you think , the share price fluctuates like crazy everyday but always end up around 5.20. Coincidence is it? We will see , time will tell. Market will decide.

Perhaps ex div , aggressive share buy back to bring the price back to 5.20. This , you know , to facilitate the target listing price in hkex. Can go both ways. Imo only. I'm leaning towards a positive hkex listing , so I'm going long. But will trade near term given the opportunity ( sufficient % fluctuations to justify the trade). Local funds and sovereign funds have too large a stake to allow this to fail. Something like to too big to fail concept .
However, the extremely bad reputation TG has globally now is making it a target. If foreign funds attack substantially, then , chances are the shorties will succeed and we investors will get trapped.
I'm aware of the risks , I will accept getting trapped . At least the div will dampen the blow.

Queued at 5.14 but sadly no success. Got some at 5.16. I guess shorties are rethinking their strategy. As it usually fluctuate between 5 to 5.25. They couldn't breach 5.15 significantly today. Makes sense , the funds that are holding large stakes have near unlimited resources to defend.if they want to. And with the div and hkex listing coming, it looks like they want to. Not to mention ,they are probably making money on both ends by depositing into CLA and rebuying at lower price. These guys are going to make the most profit end of the day.
Until all the uncertainty is resolved and the attacks end . Looks like significant capital gains will be unlikely in the near term , but a trading opportunity is apparent. With clear support at 5 and aggressive resistance at 5.25. But trade with extreme caution.

Quite ingenious really . The shorties borrow from CLA to short and push the price low . The CLA is supplied the shares by institutional players. The institutional players then go and buy back the shares cheaper from the market making the difference, fees , and transaction costs. In short, it looks likes the shorties are getting shorted themselves by the banks and tan Sri's family.
Eventually , who knows the outcome . The only way they'll win is if retail investors panic and sell cheap. Thats why so so so so much noise here barking bad news and negativity to scare retailers.

On the negative , ( i say the good and the bad as I see it) . The volume , above 5.20 indicates that the guys controlling this wants this price range. Coincidentally the target listing price at HKEX ? If the price were to shoot to 6 for instance. Wouldn't this complicate the listing at HKEX. I hope im wrong and this is a coincidence. But if true, We won't see much upside above 5.20 for quite a while . Till May or June. That wouldn't be any fun at all now would it ?

The price may go up or down . My group are net buyer at the moment. And plan to acquire more to maximise returns (at the right price ). If you pay for the right apps , you can see if its retail , institutional or foreign and volume trends. Its all color coded. If you research , you can find the net shorted position. Since its RSS (regulated short selling) , short selling in Malaysia, requires you to borrow the shares from CLA before selling . With uptick rules in force , Short selling isn't easy in Malaysia. If it was, there would be dozens of hedge funds for sale by now.
They might succeed , negative sentiment towards TG has never been worse. Globally even. Hence the attack . In fact early January, foreign money was leading the shorting. Markets are moved by sentiment/emotion just as much as fundamental if not more. Only time will tell. Just enjoy the show .

You think shorties sell at 6.50 , shake legs and close position at 5.20 is it ? Shorties have to continously sell , buy and close position as per transaction period. Average price will dictate their profit or loss. And yes , the fact that so many naysayers with no valid reason , still come here in droves trying to scare people to sell . I for one going to buy more if price drops Monday. All this negativity from people with malicious motives indicates to me a good opportunity. These people (naysayers) don't care about us . Hk listing will cause eps dilution . It is true and everyone agree. Between 11 to 18%. This might reduce future dividend. Not ideal , especially for dividend investors like me. But that is why they declared 50% + 20% for this year to be fair to the investors. They are asking for 1 year to prove to us that this could be a win win for everyone , while guaranteeing the dividend before dilution .

Also ,the estimated 7.7 bil raised not going to be kept in FD , if managed well ,will increase profits , new opportunities, expansion , purchase companies and new ventures possibly. In theory , not at all bad.

In addition, the share price in HK will mirror the price in Malaysia after conversion just like singapore .This could go both ways true , but the ample liquidity in that part of the world is an opportunity for extraordinary gains both in FDI and currency conversion gains.

Last time IB analyst say can go 100 people believe and buy . Now IB analysts say 4.85 (only 1 below 5 for that matter) people believe and sell. End up some people buy high and sell low.
