Datasonic Group Bhd posted a 58.21% gain in net profit to RM19.04 million for 1QFY2024 from RM12.03 million a year earlier, on the back of higher revenue. Earnings per share increased to 0.67 sen from 0.42 sen. Revenue rose 32.36% to RM84.82 million from RM64.08 million, with RM75.77 million of the amount derived from the supply of smart cards, passport and personalisation services compared with RM55.8 million previously. The group has declared a first interim dividend of 0.60 sen per share, compared with 0.25 sen per share a year ago.

Ekovest Bhd has proposed to undertake a private placement of up to 10% of its issued shares to strategic and/or institutional investors to raise up to RM117.27 million — mainly to fund the construction cost of the Rapid Transit System (RTS) Link project. The placement, to be implemented in tranches, entails the issuance of up to 269.58 million new shares, with the issue price of the first tranche fixed at 43.5 sen per share, representing a discount of 4.35 sen or 9.09% to the group's five-day volume weighted average market price up to and including Aug 29 of 47.85 sen per share. The issue price of the remainder of the placement shares is yet to be fixed, but is assumed to also be at 43.5 sen, which could raise a total of up to RM117.27 million for the group, of which RM86 million will be used to partially fund the RTS Link. Of the balance, RM28.47 million will be used for working capital and RM2.8 million to defray the placement's expenses.

Ekovest Construction Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Company (“ECSB”), had on 5
July 2022 accepted the Letter of Award by Adil Permata Sdn Bhd (“APSB”), the appointed main
contractor of Malaysia Rapid Transit System Sdn Bhd (“MRTS”), to participate as the engineering,
procurement and construction contractor for the RTS Link project, for a contract sum of RM1.979
billion. The contract sum was subsequently reduced to approximately RM1.43 billion following a
reduction in the construction scope for the project.
The RTS Link project includes, among others, the construction of a railway shuttle link measuring
approximately 4 kilometers (“km”) (Malaysia: 2.7 km and Singapore: 1.3 km) connecting Bukit
Chagar, Johor Bahru and Woodlands Singapore. The RTS Link will be a modern light rail transit
system which will provide high volume, fast and efficient transportation system between the two
(2) stations. The link will be integrated with public transport systems at both stations, providing an
alternative means of transportation that is expected to help alleviate the congestion at immigration
checkpoints for both countries.

Yes, it is still a legal entity like a private company but not subject to Bursa's listing regulation. The only question is do they have or able to source the funds to enable them to fight a questionable protracted court case.

Am pretty sure the Gov of M will make sure this is delisted faster than Serba to ensure that they will not be liable for any compensation claim. Already they have the court case postponed to possibily after suspension date.

Managment had all the time to address the written plan. It is far too late. They didn't take it seriously like the way they handle the compensation claim.
