Local funds to the fore? Poised to invest RM4bil on Bursa
BY INTAN FARHANA ZAINULandTEE LIN SAY

Sources said local institutional funds are expected to invest RM4bil in the equities market in the next few weeks.
“Firstly, a local fund is expected to invest RM1bil in the local bourse starting next month to mainly buy the big-capitalised stocks. Apart from that, there is also another RM3bil of “fresh money” to be invested by government-linked investment companies (GLICs) in small and medium-cap stocks over the next few weeks,” said sources.

There will be ups and downs in the stock market.

Successful investors knows WHEN TO BUY & HOLD the stock and WHEN TO SELL and have nothing to do with that particular stock.

A very simple rule for success in stock market is to FLOW WITH THE TREND, never go against it.

Currently MYEG is in the UPTREND channel (in fact it is at the upper zone - near the upper channel line - and may breakout to a higher level to form the next wave).

REMEMBER: MAKE IT SIMPLE, JUST FLOW WITH THE TREND.

From CIMB Trendspot:
DNEX

 R2: 0.450
 R1: 0.420
 S1: 0.380
 S2: 0.375

 Prices have been consolidating in a pennant pattern after hitting the
high of RM0.45. The pattern usually breakouts in a same direction of its previous trend, which was an uptrend.

 Both MACD and RSI seem to be turning up again after consolidating for the past few weeks or so.

 Traders may choose to buy here in anticipation of the potential breakout. Taking out the overhead resistance bands of RM0.42-0.45 would drive prices higher to hit its breakout target of RM0.485 next. Keep a stop at RM0.37.

CIMB RESEARCH
24 March 2017

GAMUDA

TARGET PRICE: RM5.98

Could strike several good deals by mid-2017
■ 1HFY7/17 results were broadly in line. No major surprises across all divisions.
■ Construction earnings surged 50% yoy in 1HFY17 as MRT earnings kicked in,
property margins were weak as expected due to market conditions.
■ Positive twist to Splash deal likely; more of a tariff hike issue than valuation.
■ Still a major player in urban and interstate rail jobs. Upside to RM8.3bn order book.
■ Gemas-JB rail and LRT 3 as potential job catalysts. Special dividends a possibility.

1HFY17 broadly in line
Annualised 1HFY17 core net profit was broadly in line at 96%/94% of our/Bloomberg consensus full-year forecasts. No major surprises for all divisions which chalked up 9-25% yoy revenue growth in 1H1FY7. Construction pretax profit surged 50% as contributions from MRT 2 PDP and underground works may have overlapped with tailend profits from MRT 1. The drop in property development margin was in line with the overall domestic market conditions. The 6 sen interim single tier DPS was in line.

Expecting a better 2H
We expect overall 2HFY17 financial performance to improve vs. 1HFY17. Though the underground scope of MRT 1 is completed, we expect the construction pretax margin of 8% in 1HFY17 to be sustainable (with more upside) as the underground work for MRT 2 gathers momentum. Outstanding construction order book of RM8.3bn includes a package from Pan Borneo Sarawak. Property unbilled sales were RM2bn at end-2Q17.

Property sales in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City are looking more robust than expected.

Positive twist to Splash deal likely in April?
There has been no update on the 17 Mar meeting between the federal and Selangor state government relating to the acquisition of Syarikat Pengeluar Air Sungai Selangor (Splash). Findings from our own channel checks seem to suggest a promising outcome provided that the main condition of a water tariff hike in Selangor can be fulfilled. In our
view, the politics of the water tariff hike issue, rather than pricing (valuation), would make or break the deal. All eyes are on the April timeline for a new offer for Splash.

Still not discounting a special dividend
Pending a potential new offer price for Splash, we stick to our sensitivity analysis of special dividends from the Splash sale. Based on a hypothetical RM1.1bn share of proceeds, the combined dividend yield (including 12 sen normal DPS) could be 7% if at least 50% of the cash is set aside as special dividends. On the lower end, 10-20% of the assumed RM1.1bn cash proceeds would translate to a combined dividend yield of 2-5%.

Large addressable tender book
Underground and tunneling jobs continue to be Gamuda’s niche, backed by outstanding urban and interstate rail contracts. We estimate the tunneling/underground works for major rail jobs to be worth a total RM41bn. A substantial portion is likely to come from MRT 3. For LRT 3, the 2km tunnel could cost RM600m, based on an assumed RM300m cost/km. We estimate the widely-reported 40km tunnel for the East Coast Rail Line
(ECRL) could cost RM4bn and could feature a major underground scope in Gombak.

Big cap top pick; Add retained with higher TP
Gamuda remains our top big cap rail play. Key likely catalysts are job wins from GemasJB rail contract, LRT 3, and Pan Borneo Sabah. Our RNAV-based target price rises as we update balance sheet items (10% RNAV discount). We maintain our FY17-19 EPS forecasts. Key downside risks are delays in job rollout and the Splash deal.

I personally find Bones's article logical, make sense...

1) NTA = RM2.60

2) Awaiting SPLASH deal to conclude - any time soon. IF they (together with Gamuda) can get the deal at 1x book value = KPS potion is RM450MIL!

3) Last year KPS bought over Cenbond and privatised it. Cenbond is Malaysia leading corrugated paper products. Cenbond is having a factory in Nilai, very close to KLIA.

Alibaba is setting up its regional distribution hub in KLIA Aeropolis.

So KPS should benefit from this packaging service segment of e-commerce.

We can see that these supporting businesses of e-commerce shares already flying lately.

Btw, major share holder of KPS is the Selangor state government (indirectly). Election around the corner....

KUALA LUMPUR (March 20)

Felda Global Ventures Holdings Bhd (FGV) is understood to be in talks with two companies — one linked to businessman Tan Sri Syed Mokhtar Albukhary and the other China-based China National Cereals, Oils and Foodstuffs Corporation (Cofco) — to take a strategic stake in the ailing plantation company.

The Edge Malaysia business and investment weekly (Edge Weekly) for the week of March 20 — 26, 2017 reported two separate sources The Edge spoke to, had confirmed there have been talks with these two companies.

“I am sure a proposal by Syed Mokhtar is on the table,” the Edge Weekly quoted one source as saying.

Meanwhile, FGV CEO and president Datuk Zakaria Arshad was reported to have created quite a stir on the sidelines of the Palm and Lauric Oils Price Outlook Conference & Exhibition, when he brushed aside talk of Syed Mokhtar and the Tradewinds group being potential strategic long term shareholders in FGV.

“No, not with that group,” Zakaria responded when asked.

Zakaria said the new strategic shareholder would be one that would complement FGV.

“What we want now are investors that are also in the business, so they too will be looking for long-term growth. We want to grow together with them.”

Zakaria, however, declined to comment on the identities of the candidates when contacted by The Edge.

Sometime funny thing happen in stock market. Why during IPO; funds like EPF, KWAP, Tabung Haji and PNB willing to buy even at RM 4.55 now RM 1.83 they don't want? What different FGV now vs 5 years ago? Perhaps more lands but reduce old trees?

Posted by limch > Mar 11, 2017 10:59 AM | Report Abuse

One man's meat is another's man poison. Someone see CPO side I see property. Why Shahril Samad(JB MP) was brought in as Felda chairman? Lately there is euphoria in JB property counters eg IW City, D Bhd, KSL, etc. FGV is one of biggest land owners in M'sia with 431K hectares land in M'sia and Indonesia.

A check on 2015 AR FGV own 33,912 hectares land in Johor. If revaluation done with IW City land price as comparison how much it should worth?
