Posted by Steve Jub > Aug 20, 2013 08:15 PM | Report Abuse kcchong, for malton, i saw the net asset per share pretty high (1.37) and PE ratio pretty low (5.84). what do you think of these 2 area?
steve, you are talking about the financial results ended 30/6/2012 which is more than a year ago. Malton's 2013 results will be announced soon. So the PE ratio you are referring to is history. But even for the 2012 results, you notice that revenue and profit has declined. Malton reported that they made 64.4m, or 15.4 sen per share in 2012. But show me the cash. Why is that that year they have to pay out a net cash of 52.6m? What is this 118.2m as "short-term fund" appearing in the "Cash Flow From Operating Activities" statement? Strange. Now let us come back to its 2013 ending 30/6/2013 which will be announced soon. I won't think it will be pretty. The three quarters results showed that it only make 19.2m or just 4.6 sen per share. What do you think the EPS will be for this last quarter? How much higher can it be when compared to its third quarter of just 0.36 sen? So what is its latest PE ratio then? Don't forget that it has loan stock and warrant holders who are also will be sharing any profit made in the future. Earnings is one thing which I never trust it standing alone. Look at its cash flow. Just three quarters, its CFFO is a negative of 192m! this is a result of increase in inventories and receivables of 83m and 215m respectively. As I have mentioned, the total inventories and receivables amount to 437m as at 32/3/2013. They are already more than its NTA of RM1.43 in its balance sheet. These assets are what I consider as "bad" assets" My feeling is that Malton will soon try to borrow more money from the bank. I don't know the bank will lent them any more and if not, a right issue or private placement is on the card.
Damn scary.

Friends jz told me for a co wit d capital size of pmcorp but only hv a loan of 14mil is not a good sign... It jz means d banks jz refuse to lend to pmcorp.. Simply bcos of its bad records or lousy assets or most probably both....
Well who can blame d banks. ... Jz c how d pmcorp hv to suffer impairment of related cos of 5 mil 6 mil every year... Of cos banks wont loan... Banks r always right

Hello r u pkanning for a shut down of pmcorp... why jz compare assets value???
ANCOMLB has many well running subsidiaries....in fact part of d announced capital repayment is from profit from d sale of subsidiary......

How come you are so sure that there are loss making subsidiaries but you can't even see in the audited accounts? Like that also can one ah?
How come you are so sure that "LATER THEY WILL POP UP AS IMPAIRMENT LOSS ON LOANS"?
Wah you have six sense ah?

So can you show me which part of the income statement, or which part of the Notes shows there is this "losses of other loss making subsidiaries"? Which company owes PMcorp this "cross loans"? Which part of PMCorp's financial statement shows there will be further "impairment loss"?
Are you looking at the right financial statement? Are you looking at the group consolidated statement which you should be concerned of as the stock holder, or are you looking at the "company financial statement"?
AIYA.... I JZ TOLD U IN GROUP ACCOUNT U CANNOT SEE D LOSS MAKING SUBSIDIARIES LO...
BUT LATER THEY WILL POP UP AS IMPAIRMENT LOSS ON LOANS....
D POINT IS THERE A LOSS MAKING SUBSIDIARIES WHC R THERE BUT U CANNOT SEE YET..

Kcchongnz.... I say... it is not d impairment losses whc r masked ok.... impairment losses r d results....
NFI's profits hv masked d losses of other loss making subsidiaries.... +5-2-1 = +2 u r seeing tis +2 only...
d point is there r loss making subsidiaries in d group..... which r being kept alive by d cross loans.... slowly but surely as these subsidiaries r loss making they cannot pay d cross loans....
d result wil b tis yr impairment loss on inter co loans rm 5mil.. nxt yr rm 6mil.... until pmcorp bleed to death...

"
But soon very soon ths very very very old plant machinery wil start to break down.... n NFI wil hv long down times... n tis wil in turn makes its only but insignificant chocolate biz, insignificant as u hv noted, even more insignificant... n eventually... very quickly.... pmcorp wil becomes a PN17 co due to insignificant level of business operation....

Pmcorp fund is all tied up in cross loans to its related companies.... n pmcorp 2011 2012 audited accounts hv shown tat it has been having impairment losses on these loans... tat mean these subsidiaries cannot pay back their loans to pmcorp....
N these subsidiaries cannot pay must b bcos they have been making losses.... u cant see these losses in d group account bcos they hv been masked by d small NFI profit....
So when more subsidiaries cannot pay back pmcorp bcos of losses.. u wld b staring at a pn17 pmcorp... bcos it is jz so near to being one now

guys guys girls girls.....luv luv.... i tell u all.. capital repayment is really NOT wat it is cracked out to be....
going by d comments here has made me tot a capital repayment wil push up d price of a counter sky high...
BUT i hv found out tat is NOT d case as u can c from ANCOMLB ... which hv actually announced a 80% capital repayment of 8 sen for every one of its 10 sen share.. but its price has hardly gone up...
http://klse.i3investor.com/servlets/anpth/943266.jsp
moreover in ANCOMLB case it is making a capital repayment from a position of strength n post capital repayment its na is stil higher thn its par value n it has running profitable businesses...
not so for PMCORP where there is huge losses to clear... n which d term capital REDUCTION is more appropriate... n since whn has capital cancellation due to losses... where 1000 shares r reduced to say 200 is celebrated n keenly awaited?!?
