Sewaktu dalam rangka lawatan kerja di Nanning, China, saya telah menerima kunjungan hormat pegawai-pegawai kanan daripada dua buah syarikat gergasi China iaitu China Communications Construction Group (CCCC) dan Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. (Huawei).

Rombongan CCCC diketuai oleh Pengerusinya, Encik Wang Tongzhou manakala dalam sesi berikutnya pula, rombongan Huawei diketuai oleh Timbalan Pengerusi Lembaga Penyeliaannya, Encik Li jie.

Kedua-dua buah syarikat memaklumkan keyakinan mereka ke atas kedudukan semasa ekonomi negara dan arah tuju yang ingin dibawa oleh Kerajaan Perpaduan.

Justeru, mereka berhasrat untuk terus berada di Malaysia dan komited menyokong projek-projek mega yang direncana Kerajaan.

Komitmen ini khususnya melibatkan projek-projek infrastruktur jaringan pengangkutan darat, pembangunan ekonomi digital dan sektor tenaga boleh diperbaharui.

Anwar said he also received many questions on the idea of the special zone during a meeting session with global investors earlier on Wednesday morning.

“I have mentioned to investors that the cost of management is too high (in Singapore). They can continue to work in Singapore and live in Johor,” he said.

Malaysia and Singapore had in July agreed to create a special task force to study the establishment of the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone.
